The special stamp set we have for you this month is:
"News From The Woods"

The mini stamp set we have for you this month is
"Corn Ears"

Today's set, called Seed Packets, is the perfect compliment to day #1's set Garden Bunny.

I continued with the vegetables theme and did some more water colouring.

I thought the green card stock was the perfect colour for the images, and distressing the edges of the panels was a good way to look rustic without looking too messy

For my second card I had the idea to make a card that was really simple.  I love the tomato image so this is what I came up with:

I think it would be fun to make a card set with all of the vegetables which I would have done but by the end of my card making sessions I was running out of time.  Even so I love this tomato.  I think I got the perfect shade and the Glossy Accents came out perfectly.

I hope you enjoyed viewing my cards as much as I enjoyed making them.  The rest of the DT had a great time with the stamps this month so don't forget to continue hopping and see what wonderful things they've done.  And you should also visit the Mark's Finest Papers store.  There you will find a lot more beautiful stamp sets and some wonderful crafty products!  :)

Well after the snow storm that we had here yesterday it definitely does not look like spring, so this stamp set, called Glad Glads,  is a good reminder of what spring might look like eventually, lol.  :)

Pretty, eh?  Of course my favourite image is the larger flower and I decided to water colour it.

I heat embossed the image before colouring and I find it gives it a nice detail.  Keeping all of the papers monotone helps make the image pop.

For my second card I decided to use my other favourite technique, cracked glass.

For this card I used a lot of white pen to highlight and embellish.  Under the cracked glass embossing I find the white gel pen gives depth to the image.

"News From The Woods"

The mini stamp set we have for you this month is

Today's set is one of my favourites, called Spring things:

I must say I kind of got carried away with this one.  I started with an idea for a card set:

If you find the smaller pictures difficult to see, just click on it and you will see a larger image. You can look at all of the images on the post from that screen, or if you press the escape key you will return to the post.

I had a ton of fun making these, starting with the backgrounds. Each one was created with water colour paper, using the salt technique I learned from my Clean and Simple card class that I took last month.

With each colour I scribbled three shades on a craft mat, wet it with a water bottle, and pressed the paper down, making sure all of the white was covered.  When doing this the paper gets quite wet, so when you sprinkle the salt on (I used coarse kosher salt) it sticks to the paper and wicks away the colour in some spots making a really interesting pattern. Once the paper is completely dry the salt just brushes away.

Since I started with the backgrounds I wasn't sure where I was headed at first and I had used sheets of water colour paper close to the size of my card fronts.  Once I had embossed my images and trimmed them down I had a ton of leftovers.  So, I kept going!

I had a scrap from each piece that were the same all the same size so I just played around with them on a card front and came up with this layout.  I couldn't fit the green piece on so I decided to make the little inch worm green. :)

I still had a ton of scraps left so I made one more:

I hope you enjoyed viewing my cards as much as I enjoyed making them.  The rest of the DT had a great time with the stamps this month so don't forget to continue hopping and see what wonderful things they've done.  And you should also visit the Mark's Finest Papers store.  There you will find a lot more beautiful stamp sets and some wonderful crafty products!  :)

"News From The Woods"

The mini stamp set we have for you this month is:
"Corn Ears"

Today's set called Garden Bunny is perfect both for spring, and for Easter which will soon be here:

My first instinct was to use the bunny, but then I thought it might be more interesting to make a couple of cards that you might not immediately think of.  My first used the vegetables:

This was a fun one to make with the water colouring, braided twine, and both heat and dry embossing.

My second card is more CAS.  I thought it would be fun to focus on carrots:

Of course I couldn't forgo a touch of sparkle.  Even carrots look great with gemstones!
